If you have heretofore, then starch the sheets and covers - use strongish starch. And before they are completely dry, "mold" them into required shape, joining one to the other to pounce upon a as required, to resemble the turrets of the fort, any watch-towers & minarets, the parapet/terrace, etc. If well-starched, you absolutely won't need any pillows, etc. However, if you still need them, use as ramparts, walls, etc. for the main 'scaffolding'.

Pack firm couch cushions, drape any type of sheets, blankets, or fabric. Balance the cushions on their sides, slant them up against bookcases, sofa, doorways, etc.

Put a partnership sofa cushion vertically between two chairs, leaning against both, Stack more pillows and/or sofa cushions on the seats of the chairs, up to the climax of the backs. Cover it with a sheet or blanket and crawl in.

My imaginative daughter would tie ropes to the corners of the blankets and tie to anything that will hold, i.e. curtain rods, to a heavy book on a book suitcase, middle of the ceiling fan (becareful not to turn the fan on!!!!) .....

I have washed some with adequate results and others that didn't work so well. If they are badly soiled and washing is the only way you think they will come clean, then I would say try it and see what happens. Surge them on the gentle cycle and hang or lay flat to dry.

What's REALLY necessary for asthma, and what's over the top pushing it?

Medication is a urgency.

Having no pets is a good idea.

Washing your bed spread often is also a good idea.

But as long as I wash my bed/pillows often, are watchful covers necessary?


They humour allergy pillows. They are hypoallergenic and not much more expensive than regular pillows.
