Is this a good idea for a bridesmaid gift?
Jul 20, 2007 by rhiannon r | Posted in Weddings
Well, i at best wanted to say a lot of people that I know do this, so its not far-fetched, but to give the bridal party jewelry to wear on the wedding as a gift. But where is a good place that is reasonably like 10-25 bucks, but pretty things they would want to wear??
Many brides do this...however I would add a close-fisted gift of appreciation that has nothing to do with their wedding attire since technically that is for you as well.
Have you tried making the jewelry? You can easily do them for that price and it would add a very personal set off that jewelry from Claire's just couldn't. It's actually very easy and looks beautiful. I made my whole homogenization set with the exception of my bracelet.
Shop the jewelry/department stores around sale times too. Several times a year they run those 70% off sales and you could pick up something truly nice in sterling silver or white gold. We got my stepdad's fiancee a 5 diamond and 14k white gold disc necklace for $50 last year.

Ross commonly has great deals on jewelry as does Claire's. Claire's might have a better selection to match your colors. :) extra they have nice jewelry sets.

Um worthwhile and thought ful idea its just i don't think somethin that cheap for a bridal party would look dangerous. well it would look nice but not appropiate.
brown_cutie13 | Jul 20, 2007
...that's the thoughtful of thing u don't want to do cheap...use the 10/25 to do something fun.Better to remember something good asopposed to not...

Try Mervyns or JCPennys. They have some well turned out things that are pretty inexpensive and have real gold and silvers.
Also, some pawn shops have things that clean up very delicate.
Maybe try to get gift boxes from somewhere else or buy something unique to give it to them in (so they don't see WHERE it was bought.)

Thats what I did and I got the purpose from the knot.com
I would just get them something they will want to wear again and not go in the back of their closet like their dresses. I would spend at least $30

I gave my bridesmaids their earrings as their bent. I gave them something simple and classic, something that they could wear on different occassions even after the wedding. David's Bridal has some in point of fact nice wedding jewelry for reasonable prices, as does Claire's and any department store. You may be pushing it to find something subtle for $10, but with a $25 limit you should definitely be able to get something classy and pretty.

There are some companies online that have some good but cheap jewelry for bridesmaids. One company is limoges.com.
blackdiamond712002 | Jul 20, 2007
Yes, jewelry is the customary bridal party gift.
I would check places like Claire's boutique and the kiosks at the mall. The jewelry does not have to be honest, just nice costume jewelry. Even in the jewelry section of Wal-mart you may find some nice things, just keep your eyes open.
Other options are online stores, like the few I found.
Flattering luck!

I had my daughter's and her bridesmaids jewelry made at a specific craft store. There is a lady that makes custom crystal and pearl jewelry. She made my daughter an aurora borealis crystal and cream necklace, bracelet to match (with a dangling heart clasp), & matching drop earrings. The crystals and pearls were very bantam and dainty. She made the 2 bridesmaids light pink (to match their gowns) crystal and pearl bracelets with matching earrings. I weigh I paid $60.00 for everything. The jewelry was beautiful. If you can find someone to do this, they would be the type of jewelry that no one else had at a great price.

If you have lifetime, you might check out ebay. There's tons of good quality jewelry available really cheap, and you can get something of a much higher blue blood. Plus, you can get unique antique/vintage pieces. This probably wouldn't be a good idea if you be deficient in everyone to have the same ex acct matching piece, but I think getting each one something unique that suits her taste (but still is similar enough to match) might be a larger idea anyway. You can find beautiful antique rhinestone brooches, hair combs, and charms.

That's the same affair I bought my bridesmaids. I got mine from Avon for $40 altogether. I have 4 bridesmaids. The sets were on sale when I bought them though. Another good livelihood to look is Claire's. They have some nice sets in that price range. Good luck!

I got necklaces and earrings for my bridesmaids, and I got them from JC Penny. They periodically have sales on their jewelry for buy one get one half off, so I didn't end up spening a ton.

You should try http://www.hsn.com or http://www.qvc.com both are domestic shopping channels and offer a lot of gemstones, both genuine and synthetic at great prices. I bought a pair of earrings and a bracelet from hsn that was platinum over real silver and cubic zirconia and it is more beautiful than my real diamonds. They are a lot clearer and shine and sparkle more.

Though you are not obligated to give gifts, I make up it's a great idea. I got my bridesmaids inexpensive jewelry sets from http://www.glamforless.com/Jewelry.htm and they loved it.

try ebay or search merger jewelry on google for the price you are thinking of
also i dont know if you have one around you but you can order online at boscovs.com or kohls-they have nice jewelry for a sound price

Im overjoyed im not one of your bridesmaids. For all the effort they put in doing things for you, buying expensive dresses they never wear again, you are going to give them something cheap and vulgar? I wouldnt be impressed.
Just remember, cheaper jewelery some people are allergic to. I know I am, and wouldnt like red welts on my peel because the jewelery was cheap.
Suzieq | Jul 20, 2007
I purchased the items from a local jewels store - I gave them silver heart lockets, which they wore for the wedding.
Lydia | Jul 20, 2007
www.sammoon.com has things even less expensive than that and its CUTE STUFF! you could even afford to give them another gift that they could get more use out of later....I gave mine mongrammed beach towels and my girls use them all the in good time always now!

I am Aries, I must say I do favour some of these remarks. I'm always bumping my head & I can relate to Hard Headed Women by Cat Stevens and I won't institute a knife to a gun fight :) ENJOY!
Scorpio and yes it's all upright. I am the next Bill Gates. lol

What is your horoscope sign...?

I am a Leo. I pleasure automated opening doors and nothing would give me more pleasure than to have Clappers applaud me when I enter a room. I must admit I am an attention seeking individual. ENJOY!
This is so diverting & true in so many ways! I'm an Aries, I never thought about it before, but I too think Hard Headed Women by Cat Stevens was an Aries.
If dignitary held a gun to my head & told me not crack a smile, they would just have to shoot me if I saw a 35 year old sucking their thumb. LOL!
This problem seems to ruffle the feathers of the Scorpio, except for tomboy101013. They must have that sugar hysteria going on with the chocolate. :)
A star for you!
