How do I clean the inside of an antique, sterling silver flask?
Feb 11, 2009 by Christopher M | Posted in Cleaning & Laundry
I purchased a 100 year old flask, and am frazzled of using it until I can be sure the inside is perfectly clean--bacteria, corosion, etc. I was thinking of using the boiling deuterium oxide with baking soda and aluminum foil method, followed by a rinse with white vinegar, but don't understand if this is adequate. Suggestions??
Try putting it in boiling splash and vinegar!

What liquor should I put in my hip flask??
Aug 07, 2006 by mina_de_valencia | Posted in Beer, Wine & Spirits
I got a wonderful sterling silver hip flask with my name engraved on it for my birthday. I'm irresistible it on a camping event for a week that will have over 12000 people there. What should I fill it with? It should be something that is easy to clean out. Im going to be doing a lot of night space roaming from camp to camp, and I'll get lots of offers of drink- but what should I be sipping or swigging from in the meantime??
ps... If you're in the SCA - Im active to PENNSIC!!! woo hoo!!
Vodka. Because you can mix it in anything or tipple straight.
