All of the tines on a sterling silver fork are decent except the far right one which has a curve to it. What is the purpose of the this design?
It is that way to write out cutting foods easy, without using a knife. Large pieces of veggies, hamburger patties, fried potatoes, etc.

I have a Gorham-Thurber sterling silver fork in the "Threaded" representation with the surname of "Hadwen" engraved on the handle. William Hadwen was one of Jabez Gorham's first partners in 1813. It is in true condition. Does anyone have any idea of its value?
according to items for vending on e-bay that item looks to be worth between $15-$20. Those numbers also change depending on what type of fork it is. For a more accurate guestimate id go to an antique dealer and ask them to appraise it.
