Hello,
I am looking for a become successful in Australia prefer online shop that stocks watch faces. The watch face not the whole watch, as I make jewellery.

I want sterling silver ones, I keep decision beading online stores but they only sell steel or silver coloured watch faces.

Any online shop or wholesaler stocking sterling silver watch faces?

A team a few of years ago, I came across an online store selling coin watches. A sterling silver Australian florin from the 40s was used as the dial. I'm intimidated I do not have the answer to your question, sorry. Most places I come across only sell steel dials.

Does perfume affect sterling silver in any way?

For model, if you wear a sterling silver watch, will it be affected if you wear perfume on your wrists? I mean over a period of time, not just occasionally.

well if it quite is sterling silver it shudnt be affected so make sure u got the real deal...

or if you havent gotten the said piece of gems yet i recommend twenga, it has some great silver jewellery!!

I am trying to find out what the hallmark A.L.D means. It's on the inside of a sterling silver pocket watch.

If ALD is the only stamp of authenticity then it suggests it's Danish although I couldn't find anything specifically for ALD but there are lots of similar marks such as ALP. There's a full file of all the Danish marks here... http://www.925-1000.com/dmA.html

Other countries used a different way of hallmarking silver often using symbols and combinations fo letters.

A L Davenport of Birmingham, England in use accustomed to ALD but this would have been one of 4 or 5 hallmark symbols. It could also be English if A were one part of the hallmark and LD another - the A would represent the year but the specific year would be determined by the style of the note A.

Hard to give anything more specific without knowing if there's more to the hallmark than just those letters and also without seeing it. Possibly try taking the watch to a municipal valuer and see if they can help.
