When I cook up tea, the water from my teapot is scummy. I've put the teapot in the dishwasher and I've scrubbed it, but it's still pretty disgusting.

If you have a china teapot a actually great way to clean it is to fill it with hot water and drop in a denture cleaning tablet. No aftertaste and it will clean it right up. And it's very friendly. Makes sense when you think about it, doesn't it?

Do you mean teapot or tea kettle? A tea kettle is the thing you put on the stove to boil the not be sensible. You're never supposed to brew anything inside it. A teapot is the thing in which you brew the tea and pour it out. It doesn't go on the stove.

If I've repeated something you already knew, no offense; I straight wanted to clarify, in case that was the problem.

Depending on what constituents the tea-pot is made of, try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Those things are wonderful. I even use it on my Stainless Steal pots and pans.

It sounds like you have limescale in your kettle. To evacuate a clean it off, pour in 1/2 cup each of white vinegar and water, or the same proportions in whatever amount needed to cover the element. Bring to a bluster, then let it set with the mixture inside, overnight. Wash out the next day, and it's ready to use.

I have a can of worms with a teapot that wont pour right.When you tip it over to pour a dribble comes out, and then when you increase
the angle it trundles out under the lid all over the place there is a irrefutable danger of tea falling on Nether regions causing much pain
on ones manhood. Do I cut notch in top of spout. I have another
teapot which does not justification this problem but it holds a gallon of tea and is enormous it is like handed down from the Army
Catering Corps totally unworkable. I forgot to mention Teapot is
Steel. All suggestions would be Gratfully appreciated.

if it's a "devilish" teapot, spank it then throw it out then buy yourself a whistleing teapot!!!

Hi,
I've had a terracotta teapot for the last few months and have been cheerily using using it to make some delightful tea's, however I've recently noticed a strange smell has started coming the tea I would impel with it and that also the inside appears to have become darkly stained. I've tried hot soapy water but it doesn't seem to have resolved the intractable. Help?

I would unreservedly boil lots of water in it a few times for long periods of time. and if that does not work buy a new one.
The problem with terracotta is it absorbs. If you old soapy water the soap was probably absorbed into it, and when you make different kinds of tea it will also absorb into it and eventually will seep traces of other teas (and soap) into the new tea.
